A Growing Market for Hosted Web Services

Fidesic Corp. (www.fidesic.com), for example, provides hosted financial services for small businesses to electronically send payments, invoice customers and arrange for customers to make payments automatically. By using XML interfaces and Web services, customers can link Fidesic's services to accounting applications such as Microsoft's Great Plains Business Solutions and Intuit's QuickBooks. Invoices can be sent by fax or e-mail. The application is built using Microsoft's .NET tools, primarily using the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) interface.
