Wooo Hooo! We're introducing our 30 Blogs in 30 Days to Say NO to Paper!
Read on to find out what the HECK happened, and what we're going to do about it!
"So, what in the world brought this on?", you may be asking yourself. Well folks, let me tell you a little story and see if you can guess what got under our skin!
Once, there was a young, energetic, and super environmentally friendly software company who was happily pursuing marketing activities. Feel free to fast forward if you're keen to this, but since the advent of the internet, there have been various companies who have been nice enough to list all sorts of businesses out there, for everyone to see, so that consumers can get a good feel for who might be able to help them out, when they're in need of a particular product or service.
Being pretty savvy to the technical landscape, our friends at the very GREEN software company decided that some of these online directories would be a great place for them to be listed, so that people in need of the fantastic time and money-saving solutions they offered would be able to find them better. They decided that a Software Vendor Directory was just the place!
Since not everything in this fine world is free, the company expected to pay to be listed. Interestingly enough, however, after all of the typing and categorizing and discerning their core competencies, the company was ready to pay; oddly however, they did not see a place to pay online.
Just a reminder, this was a Software Vendor Directory that our friendly company was attempting to be listed on.
So, after an email or four, come to find out, the software company wasn't able to find the page on which to pay online, because the Software Vendor Directory DIDN'T HAVE THAT CAPABILITY. Instead the nice folks at the Directory asked our friends at the very environmentally concerned software company to PRINT OFF A FORM, WRITE THEIR CREDIT CARD NUMBER ON IT, and FAX IT IN. Hmm. Umm, no.
Since there aren't civilized words to express what our friendly and very GREEN software company wanted to say, I will stop our story here.
The point is, we're doing something about it! Not only have we contacted some folks at this fine Software Vendor Directory, we're also starting a campaign that's centered around Saying NO to Paper! It's a waste, it's super unsafe, and it's CRAZY expensive!
