Overview
The Business Development Intern will work with Enliven
Software Sales Team to provide assistance with lead generation and
qualification.
Summary of Responsibilities
The
Business Development Assistant role will work alongside Senior Sales
staff and Executives, focusing on the early stages of the sales
process. This role will have a high emphasis on writing and
communication skills, including writing business plans, executive
summaries and short concept value-proposition documents. In addition,
activities will cut across prospect selection, contact calling,
activity tracking, reporting, and appointment scheduling for Enliven's
sales organization. The role’s objectives will be accomplished by
researching the prospect needs and professionally articulating
Enliven's value proposition by writing high impact, short documents
that will help win the decision makers. Lead sources will include:
marketing programs, seminar/events, website downloads, and inbound
contacts from the web, phone and email.
Minimum Qualifications
We're
looking for a highly motivated junior or senior year undergrad or MBA
student interested in working at least 15 hours per week supporting an
experienced, dynamic, and fun sales team with various initiatives.
Other qualifications should include:
- High aptitude for learning new technologies
- A strong desire to build sales skills and advance sales career
- Flexible, reliable, results-oriented and self-motivated
- Exceptional verbal communication and objection handling skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong computer and Internet skills
Internship Results
As a result of this internship, the intern will gain the following skills:
- Knowledge of how a small business operates and what it takes to maintain and grow a flexible, responsive business.
- Ability to summarize and effectively deliver value propositions at all levels across prospective client organizations.
- Ability to target and convert sales leads to prospects, prospects to clients, and clients to cheerleaders.
- Ability to gain client buy-in, listen to needs, and recommend and sell appropriate solutions.
- Skill set needed to target and reach decision makers and other important players in solution-based purchasing.
- Ability to utilize available technologies to craft and deliver articulate targeted sales messaging across mediums.
- Ability to work as a part of a cross-functional team, gaining
valuable prioritization and communication skills across functional
silos.
- Experience in working with both the private and the public sector
on various sales projects that involve targeted messaging and business
development across verticals
